I started to watch what I ate. A friend of mine told me that 80% of weight loss is your

diet and 20% is your exercise. As time has gone on, I've started to realise what's even

more important is the type of exercise that you do in order to prolong the burning of

               fat in your body.

Initially I started by implementing the strategies that were suggested to me which was

to calorie count and then to exercise using daily practice of exercising. I started shifting

my mindset. I couldn't run 2 kilometres but then I realised that the technique to

developing endurance isn't about running non-stop. It's about doing small stints of

running and then building up those small stints into longer stints over time. So, by

breaking down the parts into smaller and smaller chunks and then taking each small

chunk and slowly extending that out overtime eventually you can run the whole length

of whatever distance it is you want to run.

This strategy doesn't just work for exercise. This strategy works for anything that you

set your mind to in your life.

               I wrote down my goals.

I think it's important to write your goals down and to commit to them in writing. Much

like a contract with yourself. I think it's important to tell someone else about your goal

and tell them the time frame that you've put on the goal.

By telling other people you are committing and you are also making yourself

accountable for achieving the tasks that you set for yourself.
