disappear, they just change shape and get recycled. In that regard, we are all just
recycled matter. We are all thousands of years old and we're made up of matter that
has been on Earth for millions of years. We are just embodying that matter with energy
which is a constant state of transformation.
These ideas and this belief system really resonated with me. These concepts have
come to shape my underlying belief system and my sense of spirituality. They shape
my sense of connection to the world at large and therefore how I base all of my
decisions in my life. How I choose to filter the world around me is based on this belief
system that we are all one.
I have taken many aspects of this belief system in different ways throughout my life.
At certain times I've meditated. I've gotten into Buddhism. I've gotten into indigenous
approaches to nature. The way I express my fundamental belief system is a shifting
target but the underlying belief system that all of that sits on all of that spiritualism or
lack of spiritualism sits on remains the same. It provides a sense of deep-rooted
stability and connection to the planet and to my life and to my purpose in life and it
also helps me keep my life in check. It helps me keep life in perspective, helping me to
see my insignificance as well as my significance in the larger context of life and society
and the planet. It shapes my understanding of how I relate to other people in my life.
The reason why I share my spiritual beliefs with you is not to encourage you to take
them up at all because that's not what this is about whatsoever.
The reason why I share that story with you is to give you a clear example of what a
belief system is. To demonstrate how you might believe and what you would base your
