small but fruitful profit upon resale. What is it all for though? What purpose does it
serve when at the end of the day, “earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust”, we
return to wherever it was we came from.
I often wonder how people find their compass through all of the chaos. We live in what
is now coined ‘the Age of Distraction’. As pack mammals, we are easily swayed to
conform to the ways of our community in order to fulfil our need for belonging to
something larger than ourselves. We make choices based on a hope of fulfilling our
underlying human need for significance, certainty, variety, love, connection, and
growth. These are known as the six human needs that are universal to all people.
How often do we really take the time to step back and reflect on what it is that is truly
guiding us to make the decisions we make in our lives?
The modern era is not just coined the “Age of Distraction” but also known as the “Age
of Disruption”.
I came to a point in my life where the poor choices I had been making as an adult
brought me to such a state of inner crisis that I had no choice but to take a leap of faith
into the unknown.
Disruption. I knew that what I was presented with left me feeling empty. Was it just
me? or was it the world that I lived in? I recently became enraptured and absorbed by
the works of Jordan Peterson. Peterson is a Jungian psychologist or psychotherapist
