2019 Annual Report


                       MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING OF 2018

                                                Sunday, February 24 , 2019
        Opening: The Annual Congregational Meeting of 2018 for Trinity Presbyterian Church York Mills was held on
        Sunday February 24, 2019 following the morning worship service. Opening devotions and a prayer was provided
        by The Rev. Kirk Summers, who chaired the meeting.

        Secretary: On a motion from Randal Phillips, seconded by Tom James, it was agreed that Linda Herron be

        appointed recording secretary for the meeting. Carried.

        Minutes: On a motion from Linda Herron, seconded by Don Seal, the minutes of the 2017 Annual Congregational
        Meeting were adopted as printed. Carried.

        Motion to Adopt the Agenda: On a motion from Terry Kelly, seconded by Scott Worthington, the Agenda was
        adopted as printed. Carried.


        Kirk Session Report: A motion to receive the Reports of the Kirk Session, Congregational Statistics, Ministry and
        Group Reports, with the exception of the 2018 Financial Statements and  Envelope Secretary’s Report; and
        Report of the Trustees, was made by Terry Kelly, seconded by Mark Boucher. Carried. The Chair expressed
        appreciation to all those who do the work and diligently report on it.

        Appointment of the Trustees: On a motion by Isobel Hutchison, seconded by Tom James, Trustees Russ McKay,
        Tim Herron and Mary Wilson were reappointed. Carried. The Chair expressed gratitude and appreciation to
        Russ, Tim and Mary for their work as Trustees.

        The Year Ahead: The Chair took a look back at 2018. We did many wonderful things in 2018, much of which is
        captured in the 2018 Annual Report. We have many wonderful things to look forward to in 2019 as we bear

        witness to God’s ‘amazing grace and warm embrace’ by being ourselves ‘amazingly gracious and warmingly
        embracing’. It is toward the ongoing sustaining and growth of this life in Christ with friends in faith, old and new,

        that the Session has set goals, objectives, and outcomes for this 66  year of Trinity’s existence.

        The Chair reported on his responsibilities and diligence in fulfilling them. He mentioned all the staff and their
        pivotal role in helping Trinity be all that it can be for Jesus. They provide support, service and solutions as they
        go about their work with kindness and excellence.  As will be detailed later in this meeting, we are eager to
        welcome others to the staff in the months ahead. These additions will be, all being well, in three areas; Children

        and  Family  Ministries,  Youth  and  Young  Adult  Ministries  and  the  Ministry  of  Community  Engagement  and
        Activation.
