2019 Annual Report

        7. Operating expenses managed within budget.
        8. Bartlet and Flower Funds support to general fund.
        9. Through anniversary offerings the funding of Trinity Renewal was completed.
        10. Congregational support of outside organizations.
        11. Receipts of bequests and major gifts to replenish Growth and Memorial Funds.
        12. Maintenance of strong balance sheet position.

Russ noted that there is no independent review conducted of the financial statements but the division of duties

between Mark Boucher, Beth Hemstad, Carolyn Matte and himself provided an assurance of sound and accurate
        financial reporting.

Russ explained the 2018 Financial Statements. Russ reviewed various Ministry and Session Funds and the
Balance Sheet. He noted that the Consolidated Statement of Income and Expenses shows the church has been
successful financially in 2018. A $21,923 surplus is a good result. While our offerings were down a bit our rentals
were up. Russ reviewed the Consolidated Statement of Receipts and Disbursements and the Statement of
Changes in Funds and the notes regarding both these statements. In his review of the Consolidated Balance
Sheet of the General Fund, Russ noted that Trinity has no long-term capital debt. The 2018 returns of the PCC
Fund were better than expected. This Fund is professionally managed and the National church and over 100

churches are invested in this Fund. Our Building Renewal: Inspiring Initiatives Campaign was a three-year project
and it was hugely successful raising $153,170 for our building’s renewal.

Following Russ McKay’s report, on a motion from Mark Boucher, seconded by Esther Rupnarain, the 2018
        Financial Statements were approved. Carried.

Russ touched on the Envelope Secretary’s Report. The role of the envelope secretary involves the record keeping
and accounting for all payments to Trinity by envelope and all other types of payments, such as rentals, that are
processed through the collection plate on Sundays. Russ commended Beth Hemstad on the beautiful job she

does week after week in this role. Russ noted that there had not been a huge shift from 2017 to 2018 givings.

On a motion from Russ, seconded by John Clarke, the Envelope Secretary’s report was adopted. Carried.

Russ mentioned the new method of giving through the Tithe.ly online system. It is an additional way for
members, adherents and occasional givers to donate.

Russ McKay then presented the 2019 Budget. While proceeding through it with detailed explanations, a few
        items were noted by Russ:

                                                                                                                   5
