Rate Years

Rates Center is the tool you use to set your base rates (BAR). This is done by creating
Rate Years. Let’s look at how Rate Years are built and a few best practice hints. Rate
Years can be created or edited by accessing Rates Center Configurations > Rate Sea-
son.

Building Rate Years

A Rate Year is based on a calendar year, and
can be broken down into Demand Seasons and
BAR Levels.

• Rate Years

• Run from Jan. 1 - Dec. 31
• Demand Seasons
• Fit within a Rate Year
• High, Medium, Low, and Other
• Can set as many as desired within a year
• Each season has one set of rates (e.g., all “High” demand seasons within a rate
year will have the same rates)
• BAR Levels
• Set within each season
• Default setting is 3 BAR Levels (BAR 1, BAR 2, BAR 3)
• BAR 1 is the highest level
• Property can request up to 9 BAR levels through their Area Director (AD)
