I am very happy to know that Doha Chapter has organized its annual flagship event, the Fifth
International Conference on 25th & 26th October, 2018 with a theme that has come to be associated
with a revolution at the commencement of this century , the Digital Revolution. I , therefore , would
like to congratulate you and the Executive Committee of Doha Chapter for selecting well‐timed theme
“sustainability & Growth In The Digital Era “ not only because of its economic & professional
significance but also because Digital Era has profound impact on every sphere of life be it education,
commerce, business interaction, social relationships or personal life.

As an active and vibrant institution in service to the Qatar CA community for 37 years, Doha Chapter
continues to be the fountainhead for dissemination and knowledge sharing of wide range of latest
developments of interest to its members through seminars & CPE events headed by industry experts,
technical & subject matter experts etc and lately by hosting Annual International Conferences. More
significantly, over the years, members’ high participation in other events such as CSR, sports,
networking and family events has brought a close sense of camaraderie and belonging to the
community.

Last year was an exceptional year of achievement as Doha Chapter was honoured with an award for
Best Overseas Chapter of the Institute. Among the milestone achievements for this year; Doha has
been approved as Exam Centre for ICAI exams. Another First for the Chapter was the initiation by
Institute of live webcast of “ Leader Speak from ICAI chapters Across Globe “ The first live webcast
from Doha Chapter featured Dr. R. Seetharaman addressing the session on “ Emerging India‐ NRI
Perspective”. These are glorious moments of great pride for the Chapter and its members. But
they are equally great testimony to years of high personal commitment and excellent team work of
yourself, Executive Committee, Past Chairmen and members of various sub‐ committees in so many
activities and events.

I wish the Fifth Annual International Conference a great success and my best wishes to the members
of Doha Chapter to continue their excellent performance in years to come.
