Shri Pitambar Das, Director (Tax Policy & Legislation ) for Central Board of Direct Taxes from Ministry
of Finance, India spoke on Indian Union Budget 2018 – A Change agent in reforming India. He also
mentioned that in order to boost the Government’s effort to create a world class financial center,
the budget provides for capital gains exemption on transfer of certain capital assets such as GDRs,
rupee denominated bonds, derivatives, foreign currency bonds in International Financial service
centers which are traded in foreign currency.
