  Redevelopment of Kurnool City Railway Station.

                           Kurnool  City  is  one  of  the  Important  “A”  (Now  NSG-4)  category  station  on  HYB
            Division. KRNT has been included in the list of 67 stations by Railway board which has to be
            upgraded.  The  main emphasis with  regard  to  upgradation  is to  bring  visible  improvement
            without construction all over.

                    The following structural changes have been taken up so as to bring visible changes and
            to address the present need but also cater to future anticipated traffic –

               1.  Then Existing RMS office, Electrical Sub-station, Parking sheds need to be relocated
                   on functional basis and area so obtained to be amalgamated to Exg. Circulating area
                   for addressing to bonafide passengers

               2.  The  existing  SCRMU,  SCRES  and  ALRSC  &  ST  organization  offices  need  to  be
                   relocated for providing parking sheds for different vehicular types.

               3.  The existing water tank need to be shifted so as make way for grand entry and to
                   decongest the entry to station.

               4.  The FOB alignment which is perpendicular to track is to be made parallel to track for
                   ease of use and to pave way for providing ample circulating area.

                   The cost of the Redevelopment of KRNT station work is Rs. 14.99 Crores including
                   4.20  Cr  for  relocation  of  SCRES,  SCRMU,  SCRSC  &  ST  offices  along  with  RMS,
                   Electrical substation, Over head water tank & parking with the following break up

                   Engg.& Commercial Cost              =      Rs. 11.57 Crores
                   Electrical Cost                     =      Rs.1.35 Crores
                   S & T  Cost                         =      Rs. 1.97 Crores


                   Major works taken up are as under

                         The Elevated Overhead tank (Capacity 50,000 Ltrs) has been relocated
                         RMS office and Sub-station has been relocated
                         Shifted of SCRES, SCRMU, SCR SC & ST offices along with RMS, Electrical
                          substation has been completed.
                         Drainage system of entire station building area has been improved.
                         Work of provision of two lifts has been completed.
                         The façade of Old station building has been improved
                         Construction of New station building is completed
                         The entrance arch 15m wide both for entry and exit completed
                         Fabrication work for parking sheds completed
                         Drainage arrangement work of old station building completed.
                         Improvements to Circulating area is completed (Increased from 4500 Sqm to
                          11200 Sqm)
                         Circulating area provided with Airport type lighting arrangement.
                         Provision of 100 Ft monumental flag has been completed.

                         Provided  5  line  Train  indication  Boards  02  Nos,  Platform  TIBs  04  Nos,  At  a
                          glance display boards on platform No: 3, Digital GPS clocks 05 Nos.
