The Propane Farm Incentive Program (PFIP) is an ongoing research-based incentive
program for the purchase of eligible propane-powered agriculture equipment. The
incentive currently includes industrial engines, generators, water heater systems,
building heat systems, and flame weeding equipment. For 2020, PERC is proposing to
Project Summary: include "Agronomic Heat Treating Equipment" into the PFIP. This category of equipment
uses heat from propane to disrupt the life cycles of diseases and/or insects impacting the
growing crop. The proposed change to this type of equipment is based on preliminary
conversations with the Ag Market Team. Final decisions on eligible equipment and
incentive levels will be made by the Ag Market Team.

The Agriculture Outreach Program is the comprehensive outreach program to the
agriculture business market. Agriculture outreach improves propane demand in the
agriculture industry, which accounts for approximately 10 percent of all propane demand,
by effectively communicating the advantages of propane and propane-powered
equipment to stakeholders, including influencers (propane marketers, extension agents,
consultants, and equipment manufacturers, distributors, and dealers) and consumers (ag
Project Summary: operations). Tactics to reach these target audiences include consumer and influencer
education, marketing, public relations, trade shows, and direct communications with
influencers including propane marketers, OEMs, equipment dealers and distributors.
The target audience for ag outreach often uses and promotes propane and propane
products in other ways, so this program supports other market outreach programs as
well. A key aspect of the ag outreach program in 2020 is continuing the Propane Can
Do That® campaign through high quality content and strong media presence, which will
be consistent with B2C and B2B campaigns across all PERC markets.
