Marketer Mailing Tool Kit. We have mailed a package of marketing materials to more than 3,000
propane professionals across the country. The kit is designed to remind and introduce propane
professionals to PERC’s resources and key initiatives. It includes a cover letter from me, a booklet
with PERC highlights, Top Picks Brochure, homeowner brochure, workforce development
brochure, Propane Can do that® Toolkit Checklist, propane safety booklets, and a Propane Can
Do That® bumper sticker. We also sent an email to state associations Oct. 17 to notify them of
the upcoming mailing.
2019 Can-Do Marketing Training Series. The Can-Do Marketing Training series continued
throughout the summer. We’ve completed all the regional marketing conferences in conjunction
with state association meetings in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Washington, Wyoming, Texas, New
Mexico, and New Hampshire. Attendance totaled 161 marketers and industry members. Since
April, we’ve conducted seven monthly webinars. Attendance for webinars totals 218 to date.
Webinars are recorded and stored on propane.com. We promote all webinars and events via the
PERC Update e-newsletter, direct mail to state memberships, and state/industry publications.
Take a moment to learn more about the November 2019 to April 2020 webinars at
candotraining.com. We are also proposing a second national Can-Do marketing conference for
August 20-21, 2020 in Minneapolis, Minn., for Council approval.
Advisory Committee. The Market Development & Outreach, Safety & Technical Training, and
Research & Technology Development working groups met in Indianapolis on Oct. 2-3, 2019.
Market team breakouts reviewed market data, current market conditions, opportunities, and
2020 plans. PERC staff and task force chairs presented updates on current programs, and the
working group members advised on numerous 2020 funding requests. The market outreach,
safety, and business development dockets will be presented to the Council for approval. The
AC report, highlighting the working group’s activities in Indianapolis, was emailed to
councilors Oct. 30.
Environmental Awareness Summit. In October, 60 propane industry leaders met in Baltimore
with PERC and NPGA staff to discuss environmental messaging. The discussion will continue
with this group and in the regional meetings next year as we work toward changing the perception
of propane as a clean fuel capable of improving air quality and contributing toward climate
solutions.
Back to School Bus Campaign. In September, I participated in a radio and satellite media tour,
which resulted in nearly 4,000 radio airings and more than 2,000 TV airings nationwide talking
about how propane school buses improve student test scores, lower emissions, and promote a
healthier environment for communities. We also released a full page mat release that appeared
in more than 300 print and online publications nationwide with school bus safety tips and
information about propane. During an event in Charlotte, N.C., in September we recognized a
local school for its leadership in using clean propane energy; this news received 32 local TV
airings. We also participated in the celebration of the 15,000 Blue Bird propane bus delivered,
th
in a well-attended event in Newport News, VA.
Propane Can Do That® Campaign. The Propane Can Do That® campaign continues to drive
large numbers of people to propane.com where they are watching videos about home heating,
outdoor living, and water heating, signing up to receive regular emails from PERC about propane
applications, and searching for local propane suppliers using the Where to Buy tool. We are also
working together with state associations, including Wisconsin, Rocky Mountain, and New England
