And that’s a good reason to not try to disciple a dozen people at
once, by the way. As important as discipling is, it’s equally important to do
it well.

If possible, be in relationship with another discipler.
Pray for one another. Compare notes, being careful to not share
anything confidential unless doing so will help someone be safe.
You can learn a lot from people who’ve gone through lead-
ing First Steps/Conversations a few times; be open to asking for
advice.
9 First Steps Conversations ends with 7/13/19.
Lesson 10 is about living a life of promise. These promises are
summarized in Philippians 4:7, 13 and 19. Verse 7 is the prom-
ise of peace. Verse 13 is the promise of power. Verse 19 is the
promise of provision.
During the last session, explain that the next step is following Jesus
and walking in his promises.
10
Remember to have fun and laugh.
You’re serving Jesus—and that’s just good stuff.
Be upbeat when you meet with the Jesus-follower you’re
discipling. Be positive. Let the joy you’re feeling show.
You can do this! Everyone can have a Conversation!
