Two points worth noting: This promise is for needs, not desires.
And the promise was made to a group of people who clearly knew
how to give and give with the right motives.
Sadly, that’s not always the case. Some gifts come with so many
strings attached those gifts appear to have been knitted.
With your discipler, discuss God’s provision in your life. Is that some-
thing you’re experiencing? If so, how? Have you thanked God for it?
And what do you have that might be made available to others—mon-
ey, time, talents? How might God use you like he used the Philippians in
Paul’s life?
3. 7/13/19 promises.
As a Child of Promise, it’s good to remember the promises God has
made to you.
Not so you can keep reminding God of them; he knows what he’s told
you. It’s good because they’re a reminder you can live bolder than you
feel, rest in a peace that may make zero sense to people around you, and
abide in the power of Jesus.
He’s promised you peace. And power. And provision.
So keep following Jesus front and center; the rest of life will make
sense then. And you have a God-sized safety net under you.
• Repeat together “7,13,19.” You have just repeated where the
three great promises of the Bible are. The promise for peace, power, provi-
sion.
• Look at the back cover of the book…it reads 7,13,19.
• All you have to remember is Philippians 4 along with 7,13,19, and
you know where to find the three promises that summarize all of the other
promises in the Bible.
Take a moment to pray that you will be able to walk in peace, power,
and provision. Ask that by faith …
