If you and your discipler haven’t yet exchanged phone numbers, do
            so now.

                              The disciple shares.

                              6. What you can confidentially trust Jesus to do
Read these passages and then tell your discipler

which one seems to speak to you most right now.
                              Explain why.

You can trust that when you confess a sin, God will forgive it.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our
sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

You can trust your salvation is based on scripture, not your feelings.

We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands
                (1 John 2:3).

You can trust that you can resist temptation and overcome bad habits and
            attitudes.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to man-
kind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what

you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way
out so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13).

You can trust that you’re part of the family.

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fel-
low citizens with God’s people and also members of his household
                (Ephesians 2:19).

You can trust that Jesus will take you to heaven.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6).

                                                                             21
