P. 25
Driving to work, you trusted that other drivers (most of them, anyway)
would obey the rules. When lights were green you drove through intersec-
tions not expecting a stray semi would ignore the red.
That medicine you took? You trusted a doctor, pharmacist, and a
drug company all in one big gulp.
Flipping on the light switch you trusted all the people at the electric
company were on the ball, and that the electrician who wired your home
knew what she was doing.
You place your confidence—your trust—in literally hundreds of people,
machines, and processes every day, all day long.
But which people do you really trust?
Jot the names of the three people you trust most below.
Now call those people and tell them they’re on your list—and why
they made the list. See how they respond.
Once you’ve wrapped up your calls, talk this over with Jesus: How is
he like the people you trust most? What’s he done to earn your trust?
