it may well be the most important hour of your day. You’ll listen deeply,
share openly, and stay ever-mindful of where Jesus may nudge you to go
as you walk with him.
Let’s pause for a moment. Is there anything keeping you from being
fully present for the next hour? Any concern or worry that’s pulling at your
attention?
If so—if something’s in the way—let’s talk about it and pray before we
move on.
The disciple shares the following.
Devotion Check In
Share with your discipler your responses to the
three devotions you completed as you prepared for
this meeting.
Your responses will help your discipler know more about you, and
about where you are in your friendship with Jesus. Your responses may
also prompt additional questions your discipler has for you.
Both share. Either can take the lead.
A Conversation About Freedom
With your discipler, move through the following outline during the next hour.
You can both discuss, but if a particular Bible verse or something your discipler
says is especially meaningful to you, say so.
It’s probably worth exploring in more depth.
1. Let’s talk —freedom from sin.
It’s important you understand exactly what you’ve been set free from
so you can appreciate what you’ve been set free to be.
The grace of God has set you free from the consequences of your sin.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
