“Jesus said, ‘“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my
disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set
you free.’ … Jesus replied, ‘“Very truly I tell you, everyone who
sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in
the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you
free, you will be free indeed’” (John 8:31-36).

Freedom cuts several ways.
There’s freedom from something—and freedom to do something.
You’ve been set free from sin—that’s what grace has done for you. As

you grow in your friendship with Jesus, and the Holy Spirit works in you,
you’ll find yourself being set free from anger…selfishness…fear…there’s a
long list.
But you’ve also been set free to do something. To love. To serve. To
forgive.

Your discipler will ask you what you think you’ve been set free from…
and what you’ve been set free to do.
Give that some thought and write or draw your response to that

question below.
