“Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not
think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh…”
(Romans 13:14).

Freedom is great stuff—right up to the moment it isn’t. Right up to the
moment freedom allows you to do something truly, stupendously stupid.
Look at the speedometer in the next car that you are in. Ask the

question, should this car be driven this fast?
Freedom gives you room to make poor choices, and you’ve probably
made your share along the way.
Describe one of those below. You’ll be telling your discipler about it
but, to be fair, your discipler will tell you about crashing and burning be-
cause of a bad choice, too.

Assuming we survive to tell the tale, some of the poor
choices our freedom allows us to make are almost funny. They’re

stories we trot out and everyone laughs—because they all have
stories, too.

But other poor choices are anything but funny.

They’re sin, and the consequence of those choices is spiritual death.
Nobody’s laughing—especially God.
