P. 51
If something’s in the way, it is our first priority to discuss this now.
Then we can move on.
So…is there anything that you need to talk about right now? Anything
that we can pray about?
The disciple shares the following.
Devotion Check In
Share with your discipler how you responded to the
three devotions you completed heading into this hour.
Be open to your discipler asking for you to explain a bit more—it will
help make this coming hour as relevant and life-changing as possible.
Both share. Either can take the lead.
A Conversation About Priorities
Both of you will move through the fol-
lowing outline during the next hour.
Either of you can take the lead, but if something you read or hear strikes
a nerve, hit the pause button so you consider and focus there.
Be especially sensitive to how you respond to passages of Scripture—
the Holy Spirit may be nudging you toward a new truth.
1. Let’s talk priorities.
Most conversations about priorities focus on getting stuff done,
about tackling what’s most important first so you’re more productive and
efficient.
Priorities are usually all about doing.
But as a follower of Jesus, who you are is infinitely more important
than what you do.
Are there things you need to accomplish? Sure—and some are more
important than others. You’ll be hearing about those.
But before you get busy doing stuff, let’s make sure you’re squared
away with who you are: a citizen of the Kingdom of God.
