Joshua had to refrain from placing his hands over his
ears so as not to offend his guest. His skin looked like
the bark of a tree, but with every movement he made,
it seemed like a thousand stones collided with each
other.
"I'm confused. I know nothing of your
customs and I make mistakes from the first meeting.
Forgive me if I'm insulting."
Joshua thought he was very respectful for someone
with such a cold voice. A volute of black smoke came
out of a piece of bark. Now he could distinguish a
human form, even if it had no real face.
"I'll be honest with you. I'm here as a scout, to
learn more about your civilization and to decide if it's
safe for us to share our knowledge with you."
The human being next to him sighed. He wasn't
interested in his stories about being a scientist, and
that certainly wasn't going to get him out of his
boredom.
"Do what you want."
And without further ado, he grabbed some shrimp
chips and turned on the TV.
