Let me give you an example. A small boy goes to a funfair with his
father and feels tremendously happy; there are swings all around,
tasty food, colourful lights, and looking at the crowd he feels very
good. Is he feeling happy because there are so many attractive
things around? No. He is joyful because he is in a happy mental
state. He is happy because his father is holding his hand; his father
is there with him. What if his father leaves his hand and goes
somewhere far away? The child will cry, scream and will get very
afraid. All those things that looked attractive to him till now, will now
start scaring him.
Similarly, we can lead happy lives when we are happy from within.
We are happy from within only when God is holding our hands. We
have to provide food not only to our body but also to the soul every
day. Our soul, like our body, needs nourishment. When we keep
faith in God, we are less stressed and our fears fade away gradually.
The roads that we found blocked earlier starts opening up slowly,
and no work gets halted. Permanent happiness starts flowing into
our lives and our confidence also hits the peak.
You do not have to demand anything from God; keep faith that
whatever He will provide you with will be good. If you demand
anything, it will be from your narrow-mindedness and perhaps what
you will get will not be right for you. But if he will give you something
by himself, it will be the best for you. It is possible that you may not
be able to understand the relevance of what he has given, but
gradually you will realize that whatever happened was His doing,
and whatever He has bestowed on us is for our greater good.
Before demanding more from God, we should first be thankful for
what we have.
If you do this then you will find that you are getting more and more.
You can try doing this for a few days; you will surely get good results.
Let me tell you a story.
