AP Computer Science Principles
AP Computer Science Principles is designed to be equivalent to a first-
semester introductory college computing course. Students will develop
computational thinking skills, analyze and study data, and work with large
data sets to analyze, visualize, and draw conclusions from trends. They
will create computer program and demonstrate employability skills
working with digital artifacts, digital abstraction and the operation of the
Internet. This course counts as an academic science elective. Please
note: students must be recommended and enrolled in Geometry or
Accelerated Geometry to register for this course. In addition, a completed
AP contract must be attached to the registration form.
*Prerequisite: The successful completion of Algebra I with a strong foundation of mathematical reasoning is
required. Students MUST be recommended by their 8th-grade math teacher for Geometry or Accelerated
Geometry to register for this course!
*You must complete the AP contract section of your registration form.
