Health & Personal Fitness
Personal Fitness & Health (1 semester each)
Personal Fitness and Health are both required for graduation and are typically taken during freshman year
or the summer* prior to freshman year.
Personal Fitness is the pre-requisite to all other PE classes, and completion is required before a student
can be registered for weight training/body sculpting or any other higher level PE courses.
In addition to being necessary for graduation, Health also fulfills the prerequisites for students to earn
their ADAP (Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program) card. An ADAP card is a required document needed to
apply for a driver’s license.
If a student takes only one of these two classes during the summer, then they will be given
whichever they are lacking first semester and either weight training or body sculpting for
their second semester class.
*Please note: Summer Health and/or PE classes are offered through Mill Creek Community
School and Gwinnett Online Campus. Both have additional fees to participate.
Mill Creek High School Curriculum office will register all rising
9th-grade students in Personal Fitness and Health. If you plan to take these
courses in the summer, you will need to make sure to mark this on your registration form.
