FAFSA

FAFSA opens October 1 - Completing the FAFSA as soon as possible after Oct. 1 might put you
near the front of the line for financial aid.
Texas requires all graduating seniors to complete the FAFSA.
Colleges use the information from your FAFSA to determine your eligibility for financial aid.

They may also use this information to award private scholarships.
Financial Aid offers may include both grants and loans.
You do not have to pay grants back.
You are not locked in to the financial aid that is offered to you by completing your FAFSA.

You may choose the aid you would like to accept.
FAFSA is not just for student loans. Grants are also offered.
You must file FAFSA every year in order to continue to receive financial aid offers.
