Getting Ready
Situation: Your course has been prepared, and you
know your subject. Before the course begins, however,
you want to make sure that you know how to apply the
key motivational techniques that will maximize student
eagerness to learn.
“Good morning. I’m your Geek instructor.”
“Ever been to Geekland?”
“No.”
“Know how to speak or read Geek?”
“Not yet.”
“Know how to dress like a Geek?”
“Don’t they wear plastic pen protectors?”
“Know anything about Geek culture?”
“Sorry. I’ve never met a Geek person.”
