Skill Checks (Criterion Tests)
1. Ask for a Skill Check whenever you feel ready. Before
doing so, however, you will save time if you first make
sure you can answer “Yes” to these questions:
a. Did I practice the skill called for by the objective?
b. Did I get a colleague sign-off, if it is called for by the
module?
2. If, after reviewing a module, you feel ready for the Skill
Check without further study, go for it.
3. Take only one copy of the Skill Check. Feel free to
write on the Skill Check.
4. If you do not perform adequately on a Skill Check,
you will be asked, after further study or practice, to
complete the same or similar Skill Check again, at the
instructor’s discretion.
5. When you have completed a Skill Check, check your
work against the Self-Evaluation material. The
instructor (or whomever else is qualified to do so) will
then check your work.
Personal Progress Summary
1. Ask whomever is checking your work to date and ini-
tial your Personal Progress Summary next to the
appropriate module. This is your verification that you
have been checked off on that module and are free to
move to another.
