Model Course Procedures
Following are the procedures or rules by which this course is
conducted. In general, the procedures tell you to select the
module you want to study, to proceed at your own rate, to
ask for the Skill Check when you are ready to do so, to work
with others as much or as little as you wish, and to use as few
or as many resources as you feel you need or want.
How to Begin
1. Read these Course Procedures.
2. Be sure you know the location of the resources, the
Skill Checks, the Self-Evaluation material, and the
Master Progress Plotter (the sheet that shows which
modules you have completed).
3. Begin with Module _______. It is a short introducto-
ry unit that will show you the big picture and provide
you with a mental map of where you are heading.
4. Use only the resources (readings, practice material)
you feel you need to help you develop the skill defined
by the objective of the module.
5. Practice the skill at least once before asking for the
Skill Check.
6. Take time to muse, to talk to others, and to see how
others are applying the skills they are learning. This is
not a race. Use the opportunity to sharpen your skills.
