How can a person become beautiful?
Dear artist Lee Kwi-hwa
I visited the Choi Art Center in the arms of Naeseorak Nature. I saw her painting back to nature. The
grass was filled with the canvas. Grass leaves stretched in all directions and overlapped, weeds that
have always been by our side but have not been noticed. I couldn't move from the grass, which
became the owner of the canvas, leaving behind numerous trees and flowers in Mt.Seorak.
"That's right. It's the first weed that leaves anywhere in barren or wounded land.“
Artist Lee Gwi-hwa, who read my question, approached me and started talking.
"I haven't even gotten a name from people yet, but it sprouts where it should always be. Even in
such a pile of leaves, there is never a tangle with each other. While bending over and looking at
weeds, I saw an order that grew together at the lowest point, but had no leaves tangled.“
Artist Lee continues to serve as a guide to the paintings of soldiers serving in Wontong. This is the
life that God, who has the sovereignty of everything in the world through the order of weeds, has
shown.
Dozens of people create a studio together in the backyard of the Choi Art Center, draw pictures,
become mothers of teachers and soldiers every holiday, look back on themselves, and are reborn
through the era of creation.
While reaching out, listening, and sympathizing with each soldier, you can find in the picture that
the tangled heart in your heart that you didn't even know is being relieved. For 20 years, I have
become a mother with more children than anyone else in the world to spend time with soldiers
who are enlisted and discharged.
Painting was a phrase from 'sincerity' that connects artists and soldiers. Numerous indescribable
truths come and go, but the soldier's closed mind is healed. Then, the soldier crosses the river he
couldn't cross, reconciles, and becomes a young soldier full of positivity to the world and people.
When you go to Naeseorak, you can meet an artist living in a beautiful era who spreads strands of
the world intertwined with the motherhood of holding a brush tightly.
