Congratulatory Remarks

Hello. I’m Lee Bumhyun, the president of the federation of Artistic & Cultural Organization of Korea.

My heartiest congratulations to the Organizing Committee for Myeong-dong International Art Festival on
holding the 8th Myeong-dong International Art Festival(MIAF 2023), titled K-ART SHOW SEOUL in Myeong-
dong, Jung-gu.

I heard that Myeong-dong International Art Festival has started to step up Myeong-dong as the global hub of
culture and art to take advantage of the regional character of Myeong-dong which was the center of culture and
art in the past and the global tourist attraction in the present.

I have greater expectations of MIAF 2023 than ever. That’s because MIAF 2023 this year is with the motto
“K-ART, from Myeong-dong to New York and to the World”, has about 40 galleries and 400 artists both at
home and abroad, including Korean artists in different countries in the world and the 2,000 artworks are put
on displayed in 52 room booths and finally is comprised of special exhibition, project exhibition and contest
exhibition.

I’d like to applaud the efforts of Director Kwon, Operation Director Mr. Ha, Art Director Bae and all concerned.
Congratulations the galleries and artists both at home and abroad on joining in this very significant event.

I really hope that the 8th Myeong-dong International Art Festival(MIAF 2023) will be a successful event and,
furthermore, will be developed as not only the event the whole world watches but also the global art platform
leading ‘the globalization of K-ART’.
