Congratulatory Message

It’s a great pleasure to congratulate the 45th Hanwool Artists
                  Association Exhibition.

It is very meaningful that a group exhibition has lasted for about 40 years. Hanwool Artists

Association has multiple characteristics, covering various majors of Oriental Painting,
Painting, Sculpture, and Craft, functioning a kind of alumni’s club ranging from 1949 to the
2000’s, and consisting of women members only.

In the 1980’s, the early years of Hanwool Artists Association, social stereotypes were

dissolved, and yet, it was difficult that women continued to work as artists. In lots of
hardships, women alumni have encouraged each other, becoming huge comforts between
generations. You can feel the precious spirits of arts which have been kept in difficult

situations with prides as artists. A variety of directions and originalities including beauties of
our lives, daily landscapes, ideal world, formative experiments, and traditional aesthetical
senses show the rich and creative world of arts.

Such creative and continuous spirits of artists by our alumni contributes to give prides to the
next generation who study currently in the college of fine arts, as a good role model.

Especially, I would like to give thanks to the president, directors, and all the members’

consistent zeal for holding the exhibition in spite of many limitations and difficulties due to
                  the current Covid-19 pandemic.

                                                                                       August, 2021
