The beautiful month of spring, May has come. Flowers are in full bloom in every corner of mountains and fields
around us. Even though we have gone through many difficulties in our daily life due to COVID-19 over the past two
years, we gradually start to prepare for activities in the post-COVID-19 era with hope of returning to normal.

In the past two years, the Korean Painting Association has successfully completed the large-scale travelling exhibition
throughout the country. This year, the Association is holding a regular exhibition “Draw Flowers, Rice, Talk and
              Painting.”
In 2017, the Korean Painting Association established the “Korean Painting Day” after having made devoted efforts
with the members of Korean Painting Development Promotion Committee in honor of the words of the late Yusan
Min Kyung-gap. The Association took the first step of showing the changed aspect of Korean paining by holding
annual exhibitions such as “the exhibition of 100 senior artists of Korean Painting” and “the exhibition of Korean
painting asks its path” inviting 82 established artists, along with the celebration of the Korean Painting Day. Beyond
the academic background or regional bonds, everyone became one in pursuit of development of Korean painting.
This way, it served as an opportunity to turn back the time of Korean painting, which seemed to have stopped in the
clock of Korean art. Through the conference “Is there a new vision for Korean painting?,” we were able to share our
diverse opinions about the present and future of Korean painting, and we reflected on how to make more effort for
              spontaneous development of Korean painting.
After the preparations for the past few years, the Korean Painting Association made a new start last year supported by
the approval as a corporation. When finishing this exhibition, the Korean Painting Association is planning to prepare a
special overseas exhibition to promote Korean painting not only in Korea but also in the global markets, heightening
the status of Korean painting on the global stage, and working on discovery of artists through international
              exchanges.
I would like to express my thanks to all executives who spared no effort for success of this exhibition, as well as the
members who kindly submitted their gemlike works from across the country.
Once again, I sincerely ask for your support and encouragement so that the domestic traveling exhibition “Draw
Flowers, Rice, Talk and Painting” can bear great fruit. despite the difficult times of COVID-19. I will be expecting your
constant interest in every effort of the Korean Painting Association to carry out prosperous projects for the future.
              Thank you.
