인사말 Greetings

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the 70th anniversary of the
Korean War armistice, I would like to celebrate the holding of this art exchange exhibition jointly hosted by Pohang City
Hall, Beyoglu City Hall, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Istanbul, in continuation of 2022.

I wish all those who are going through a lot of pain and trials due to the recent Turkish earthquakes to not lose
hope and to strive to recover to daily life. A Korean village was built as a temporary shelter with 442 containers in
Iskenderun, hosted by the Korean Association in Turkiye and jointly organized by the Turk-Kore Cultural Exchange
Association. In addition, our association separately placed an extra 202 containers in Malatya to deepen our bond.
We hope that by exhibiting works expressing the aesthetic truth pursued by artists from both Korea and Turkey at
Beyoglu, the historical center of culture and art in Istanbul, we will provide an opportunity to discover the values that August 2023
humanity must pursue together.

I am sure that the brilliant morning sunlight of the East Sea will harmonize with the beautiful sunset of Istanbul, Turkey,
and international exchange and cooperation will be more vitalized between Pohang City and Beyoglu City, sublimating
the aesthetics realized at the edge of Asia into works of art.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Jang Mi-Hwa Art Pohang, who prepared this event, Prof. Dr.
Ayden Ayan, who worked hard as a Curator of Turkiye, and the wonderful artists who submitted their entries from both
countries.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Mayor of Beyoglu, Mayor of Pohang, Consul General of the Republic

of Korea in Istanbul, and for the active support of the Directorate General of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture and
Tourism of Turkey for the vitalization of art exchanges between Korea and Turkey.
