축 사 Congratulatory Address

I would like to sincerely congratulate you on the opening of the ‘Korean Turkiye Art Exchange Exhibition’ here in

Istanbul, the center of Turkish culture and art, following last year.

As you well know, Korea and Turkey are geographically far apart, but we are very close friends. Particularly, when the
Korean War broke out in 1950, Turkey dispatched more than 20,000 soldiers, a brother country that fought together

to protect Korea's freedom. Based on this blood alliance, the two countries have developed a closer relationship in
various fields such as politics, economy, education, culture and art.

The friendship between the two countries and its people is more evident when one side is going through hardships. At

the time of the earthquake in Turkey last February, the Korean government and people shared the sorrow of Turkey, a
brother country, and supported for the rapid recovery and reconstruction of Turkey with one heart.

I expect that the friendly cooperation between the two countries will continue to expand in the future, and I hope that

this art exchange exhibition will be a meaningful place to comfort the people of Turkey, strengthen the friendship
between the people of the two countries, and form a cultural consensus.

Once again, congratulations on the hosting of the ‘Korean Turkiye Art Exchange Exhibition’. I would like to express my

gratitude to all the officials of Pohang Municipality, the Art Pohang Steering Committee, Beyoglu City Hall in Istanbul,
and the Turkiye-Korea Cultural Exchange Association who spared no effort in preparing this exhibition.
