STUDENTS
a. General Scholastic Awards for Graduating Grade School Students
Grade 6 students are ranked following the Guidelines for Computing Honors
for Graduating Grade Six Students. The Academic Ranking which is 80% is
computed from the Year-end Honors General Weighted Average of the
previous level (30% of Grade 5 Rank) and the Year-end Honors General
Weighted Average of the current level (70% of Grade 6 Rank) for each
student. The co-curricular rating which is 20% of the Co-Curricular Rank is
computed as the total points of activities from Grade 5 and 6 based on the
Pointing System for Co-Curricular Activities.
The top 30 students are arranged from highest to lowest. Then they are
grouped into two, with the top 2 students in Group 1 and the rest of the
students in Group 2. For both groups, the academic ranking is multiplied by
80%. Only the top 2 in the Academic Ranking shall be considered in the
computation for First Honor and Second Honor. After which the co-curricular
is factored in to decide who between the two becomes the Class First Honor.
Students with academic deficiencies are excluded from the list of qualified
students. This means that a grade of INC, P or LA in any of the subjects and
in Deportment, in any of the terms, would mean disqualification from the
honors list.
A full curriculum year entails enrollment beginning the second term in
November for Grade 5 and Grade School graduating students.
