Angelene Rojo: A Student and An Achiever
"I often described myself as someone who can get
things done by deadlines and with quality output
despite time constraints. For the most part, I portrayed
myself as an optimistic individual with my own style.
Since the beginning, my goal was to finish college to
the best of my abilities and have fun doing it because
lessons were more memorable when I found it
engaging. My aim was never to have so many awards,
but to be able to learn skills in Psychology. I just
wanted to make sure I did my best, because I always
criticize my own work, if I could have done better, or if
I could confidently submit my work and use it in the
future. My work ethics have always been like this, since
high school and even before that.
Studying Psychology helped me shape my current self as a creative individual who is
capable of collaborating with and understanding others. I worked to be a flexible person able
to adapt to different situations. Because of this, I was given roles I never dreamed of doing,
such as becoming a team leader in my internship and other school activities, being an article
writer and batch representative for PsychSoc. I blended a lot in my small batch because of
my personality and grades, but I also made sure to help my batchmates out in our subjects.
I'm happy to have been part of Psychological Empowerment because this was the first school
group that I didn't mind spending breaks with and interacting with outside of school.
I made my mark as a Rojo, constantly surpassing my own expectations for myself,
whatever my parents had when they let me go off to study abroad, and anyone else who
looked forward to what I would do when I entered Southville."
Psychology Journey
"My overall psych journey was definitely full of surprises and challenges along the way.
Each subject was eye-opening. I'm happy to have been able to expand my understanding of
concepts that I first learned in high school, and build on that with each new subject. My
biggest challenges were in my final year with thesis, internship, and the validating exam. To
be honest, I really wanted to cry during the last part while taking the validating exam because
I wasn't sure if I could meet the deadline or submit good responses. So to be the top notcher
