EXCELLENCE IN PERSPECTIVE: HARNESSING FEEDBACK TO DRIVE PROGRESS
In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, digital transformation is more than just a buzzword—it's a
critical factor in making processes more efficient, accessible, and conducive to growth. The feedback from
local business owners and leaders in Quezon City clearly highlights the significant impact of the QC BPLD in
enhancing the ease of doing business. From industry giants like McDonald’s to emerging MSMEs like Urban
Chick and Purest Drinking Water PH, businesses of all sizes have reaped the benefits of Quezon City’s digital
transformation and steadfast commitment to efficiency.
These testimonials reflect the transformative power of innovation, transparent service, and a customer-
centric approach. The changes implemented by QC BPLD not only streamline the process of obtaining and
renewing business permits but also create an environment where businesses—both big and small—can
thrive. Let’s take a closer look at how feedback from local business leaders highlights the success of these
initiatives and offers valuable insights into how progress will continue to unfold.
MCDONALD'S: A TESTAMENT TO CONSISTENCY AND INNOVATION
Augustine Torres, Public Affairs Manager for Golden Arches
Development Corporation (McDonald's), shared how
McDonald's has benefited from BPLD’s efficient processes
over the years. With 66 stores in Quezon City—the most in
any Philippine city or municipality—and the 67th store set to
open this December, McDonald's has directly experienced
Quezon City’s commitment to fostering a thriving, business-
friendly ecosystem.
“The shift to digitalization has proven instrumental in our
business opening with on-time and complete permits,” said
Torres. He further highlighted the consistency and fairness
with which regulations and standards are applied, making it
easier for businesses like McDonald's to expand their
operations in the city. The transparency and efficiency
offered by the BPLD, under the leadership of Mayor Joy
Belmonte, have been crucial in supporting McDonald's
growth in Quezon City.
URBAN CHICK: DIGITAL EMPOWERMENT OF MSMES
For MSMEs like Urban Chick, BPLD’s innovative approach
has had a profound impact. Owner Jules Guiang expressed
appreciation for the department’s efforts to make processes
more efficient, particularly through digitization. With over 11
years in business, Urban Chick has greatly benefited from
BPLD’s efforts to eliminate physical queuing at City Hall,
streamlining operations for MSMEs.
“BPLD’s digitization efforts are laudable, as it proves the
city is genuine when it says it wants to be business-
friendly,” Guiang noted. Beyond process improvements,
Guiang commended BPLD’s support, led by Ms. Margie
Santos-Mejia, has been supportive of their association, the
Maginhawa Food Community (MFC), guiding them toward a
future where their voices are heard and addressed.
