ally, reunions are organised by the intake them- selves but, as a tribute to our oldest alumni, The Trust organised this event internally. As members of some of the first courses to train at the newly formed Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, these Cadets commissioned in 1949. These incredible gentlemen travelled to the Royal Military Acad- emy Sandhurst from around the country to cele- brate their special anniversary with us. For many, this was the first time they had been back to RMAS in 70 years, and we jogged their memo- ries with displays of photographs and, of course, copies of their reports and the book Sandhurst: A Tradition of Leadership.
Fittingly the event took place in the Lord Room and many reminiscences of the, then, newly arrived Academy Sergeant Major Jack Lord were shared. Also attending were members of their families and staff from Academy Headquar- ters. One member of staff commented that the

veterans were so sprightly we may well see them back in 2024 for their 75th reunion!
In April, Trust staff and Officer Cadets from Luc- know Platoon attended the Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch in the Guildhall in London. Raising over a quarter of a million pounds for the ABF as well as the RN and RAF charities, the event was opened by HRH The Duke of Sussex and supported by CGS and the whole Army Board. The Cadets were tasked with taking bids for the silent auction prizes and proved highly adept at parting the guests from their money. Dinner for 10 in the Lord Room Old College, kindly donated by Aramark, the contract caterer, raised £2,225.
The Trust continues to support activities around the Academy including the Pace Sticking Com- petition. In 2019 the event was won, for the sec- ond year running, by a team from Pakistan.
