Conservation and Collection Management
The year began with the slimming-down of the surplus weapon collection (approx. 100 items) to the Small Arms School Corps Museum. Many were eclectic oddities or duplicates. The Acad- emy now has historic weapons that t ex Nor- mandy Scholar and WW1 and are loaned for identi cation purposes.
As the last vestiges of the scaffolding were removed from Old College, Metcalfe Farms haul- iers repositioned the four British 6 pounder guns back onto the parade square. The wheelwrights informed me the remaining French 12 pounders needed further work and so were brought back for Summer Sovereign’s. In the good weather Rab from Concept Design solutions carried out routine maintenance on the wooden carriages.
