2. Hardware

A GuardII+ EV card supports inputs for up to 32 single-axis endwinding vibration
accelerometers (or 16 dual-axis, or any combination of single-axis and dual axis) plus one
shaft trigger (key phasor); the card is installed into a GuardII+ Series 4208 Platform monitor.
The shaft trigger input has a built-in auxiliary power supply for the shaft trigger. The EV card
may also include connections for other monitoring technologies (refer to Section 8.1 for all EV
module variations); regardless of which other monitoring technologies are installed, the EV
interfaces remain the same.

2.1. Layout

While there may be connectors for other monitoring technologies present, the EV-related
connectors are always at the same location.
