Troubleshooting

whether or not the hardware has been properly detected or whether the system is configured
properly. For rapid resolution of any Technical Support issue, this should be included on any
                     Technical Support inquiry.

Any basic diagnostic failure will cause the Error indicator on the front panel to be blink
orange; so, if the Error indicator is blinking orange, the basic diagnostics should be the first
                     thing to check.

              7.1.2. Advanced Diagnostics

More detailed diagnostics are available on a USB drive after downloading data from the
monitor as described in Section 6.4.2. These diagnostics include detailed event-based
information over the lifetime of the monitor such as reboots and measurement status.
If it is convenient, this could be included on any Technical Support inquiry, but typically
would not be necessary for resolving most issues.

              7.2. Troubleshooting Flux-S

Flux-S has a very simple Archive, so detecting a problem with a Flux-S monitor is generally
a simple question of whether or not there are any Archives; a GuardII+ with Flux-S should be
saving a measurement at least every day; if it isn’t then the monitor is unable to analyze the
                     flux data.

                                     NOTE:
Before looking for a flux measurement problem, make sure that the asset
being monitored is running at the time; remember that if the asset isn’t
running, there won’t be flux signals coming from the sensors, so the

measurement analysis would fail and the measurement would not be
                                     saved.

For a Flux-S system, there are a few steps to check the functionality of the Flux Card.
                        • Check the configuration settings – see Section 7.4.1.
                        • Check the Flux signals from the termination – see Section 7.4.2.

                        • Try an alternate GuardII+ if one is available – see Section 7.4.3.
If none of the above steps indicate any problem with the monitor or the terminations,
contact Iris Power LP Technical Support; advanced diagnostics (refer to Section 7.1.2) will
                     likely be necessary.
