In spite of well documented and extreme use of force
by heavily militarized police units against protesters and
journalists, large protest demonstrations also support
another (but unseen) deadly threat. Please be reminded
that as these demonstrations were taking place, there
was still no medically accepted cure for the coronavirus.
The highly lethal novel coronavirus was (and still
is, as of this writing) contagiously circulating in all major
parts of the world. We now know that the COVID virus is
in droplets that are released into the air when an infected
person coughs, sneezes, talks or even exhales.
We also now know that these droplets can remain in
the air for up to four (4) hours or more. So, someone can
get sick by just passing through an area where an infected
person was talking, or simply breathing hours ago.
People Left Their Quarantine To Protest—
Demonstrations against human rights violations
and social injustices are a necessary evil of our society in
our world: not just America. But we must weigh the risks
to our general population. With thousands of protesters
shouting, chanting, coughing and sneezing next to one
another amid a pandemic, they are always certain to set
off a new wave of disease and devastation. We must also
consider that tens of thousands of arrested protesters
were placed in jails where the coronavirus was already
a problem.
There was concern among world health experts that
the close contact between thousands of marchers might
lead to a spike, when confirmed the COVID cases began to
soar. Especially, when 136,000 cases were reported on the
first Sunday of the demonstrations in the United States.
