Bringing the Concept to Life

As the head of the UN Office at Geneva I am ready to open the floors of
the Palais des Nations to encourage common intellectual and cultural
undertakings in Geneva and to stimulate the exchange of ideas between the
United Nations and the people of Geneva. I also have a strong feeling that we
should strengthen our ties and establish close working relations which would
allow us to solve numerous problems arising in the everyday work of the
United Nations.

I would like to wish happiness and prosperity to the people of Geneva so
that the United Nations could always enjoy their friendliness, openness and
support.
