unnecessary waste. Countless billions of earmarked expenditure would benefit the
general state budget. And the kWh price for electrical energy would automatically fall
drastically.
Carbon dioxide, including anthropogenic carbon dioxide, is not a
greenhouse gas!

FAVORITES IN LYON
By Bruce COHEN
As a few of you know, I am fond of food in
(almost) all of its forms and the place I like to
practise this art is certainly Lyon. Lyon has
certain advantages for me because my wife
Claire has an apartment in the
9 arrondissement. My approach to the big
th
eat is my own, so I am not pushing my style
on anybody else. Unfortunately, age catches
up to all of us and I have adapted, more or
less, to the facts of life. No more four or five
course lunches with apéros followed by a
bottle of wine. I do like to be hungry and my
means to achieve this state is to get 60 to 90
minutes of race walking under my belt before
heading off to a bistrot.
Bistrot, you say, but why not a grand
restaurant with of Michelin stars? The answer lies in my 85 year-old body which
can't input more than a couple of kilos of edibles.
An entree plus plat is enough for me. So where do I like to go in Lyon? For many
decades I had to test the latest hot-spot in town. No longer. I count my days and
perhaps I can enjoy another 15,000 if I am lucky. Carrying the math a bit further
calculating that I can have one bistrot per week, both the min and the max, perhaps I
can have another 2000 lunches at bistrots before “I pass the flambeau” to someone
else.
Why the min/max? The min applies because I truly li.ke food. The max applies as I do
not wish to self-destruct. These are reason I am not experimental these days and return
to old favourites.
