Vietnamese Hoa Phat launches latest
converter at new mill
The Vietnamese metallurgical company
Hoa Phat Group announced the commissioning
of the last, fourth, converter at the new Dung
Quat plant near Da Nang in the central part of the country.
Four 120-ton converters were supplied by a consortium of
the Chinese engineering company WISDRI and the German SMS
group. In particular, the German participant was responsible
for automation.
The production capacity of the Dung Quat mill is 4 million
tons per year, of which 2 million tons are for flat and long
products. It has four blast furnaces.
