The Project
This project will meet the need to improve conditions for mothers and infants, bridge
the gaps in hospitalization conditions between the Negev and the center of the country,
upgrade the building’s infrastructure, and make it possible for us to provide spacious hospital
rooms that ensure mothers’ privacy.
The project is expected to affect all the women who live in the Negev and come to give
birth at Soroka, in particular the approximately 3,500 mothers who are hospitalized in
the department each year and the approximately 73,000 visitors from their nuclear and
extended families. Since the reconstruction of the department is intended to provide a
long-term response to maternity needs, hundreds of thousands of people will benefit from
it over the next several years.
The reconstructed department will cover approximately 950 square meters.
