Day 2 - Transformed by Faith

            Scripture:
“Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the
people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the
            Messiah?” John 4:28-29, NIV

            Reflection:
When this woman got up the morning, she met Jesus, she had no idea that her
life was going to change forever. She had no idea that she was going to receive
that which no one could take away from her. She got up and made her way to
the well when she knew no one would be at the well to give her looks that
caused her to feel shame or to hear the whispers of the other women.

As she moved towards the well, she was probably dismayed to see a man at the
well. Especially a Jewish man because historically Samaritans and Jews did not
have anything to do with one another. However, as she talked with Him, she was
challenged in her thinking. But the answers to her questions did not cause her to
turn away but began to awaken something in her that had long since died. Jesus
spoke truth to her and the faith that was stirred within her caused her to run and
tell others about her transformation and the reason for her hope (1 Peter 3:15).

Every word that God has spoken is true. Many have built their lives upon
fallacies based on the outcome of their decisions or those things that have been
done to them. The tough questions of life do not have easy answers. Just as this
woman thousands of years ago had to wrestle with her reality and choose, today
each of us must consider our choices. It is only by faith that transformation can
take place and we move from being broken to wholeness that is only found in
Him. We just must dare to believe and by faith receive.

            Prayer:
Dear Father, thank you for your continuous witness regarding how you desire
to transform us. Our transformation begins from the inside and shows up on the
outside. I am confident that the work that you began in me, will be completed.
Thank you for your guidance and the truth revealed about who I am in you. By
faith, I am transformed and made whole to reflect Your light and love to draw
others to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
