Day 37 - Good morning, Lord
Scripture:
“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my
flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
Psalms 63:1
Reflection:
Isn’t it a wonderful thing to wake up early in the morning and hear the birds
singing unto the Lord; to see the sun rise and reveal the glorious majesty of the
Lord; to see every living thing rise up and acknowledge the Lord? It makes you
want to just smile. If you think about it long enough, it might make you bow
down and worship. Each of God’s creatures praise Him daily and yet man, the
one who He formed in His image and His likeness, forgets to stop and say; “Good
morning, Lord.”
It was God who laid you down the night before and gave you sweet rest. And, it
was God who touched you said, A/son, it’s time to get up!’ Let us start our day
during the 40 day fast by greeting the Lord with a smile. Let’s look outside at
His beauty; watching springtime unfold with the rising of the sun. Let us bask
in the glory of the light and embrace the promises of the day.
Let us begin our Lenten season by greeting our Lord, each morning. Good
Morning, Lord.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, good morning. Thank you for this day and for brand new mercies.
Thank you for the sunshine and thank you for the clouds. Thank you for the rains
and thank you for the snow. Thank you for the trees budding and for the flowers
blooming. Thank you for another season of springtime and harvest and for every
creature birthing new miracles. Allow me to be part of your plan today and help
me to share your love with someone. Use me Lord for your purpose this day and
always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
