Job satisfaction is considered a crucial factor in job effectiveness, as it can lead to
increased productivity and commitment among employees. The method
employed in this study involved using a questionnaire called the "Students'
Records Management Effectiveness Questionnaire" (SRMEQ) with a Likert four-
point scale to collect data. Mean scores, correlation analysis, and multiple
regression analysis were utilized to analyze the collected data and address the
research questions and hypotheses.
The study observed a high acceptance level among records officers regarding the
effectiveness of students' records management in Federal, State, and Private
Universities. Notably, the acceptance level was higher in Private universities
compared to Federal and State universities. Factors contributing to records
management effectiveness included accurately capturing student details, secure
storage of records, restricting unauthorized access to student records, and adherence to
best practices in records disposition.
Regarding job satisfaction characteristics of records officers, the study found that these
characteristics were relevant in determining the effective management of students'
records in universities. The overall mean scores for the job satisfaction characteristic
items exceeded the agreement level. Some of the job satisfaction characteristics
highlighted included being valued by the university as a student records officer, having
opportunities for career advancement, and experiencing a spirit of cooperation among
co-workers.
