8. Innovative Materials



                   R&D studies in the sector have developed many innovative materials that will
                   provide alternatives to traditional materials. Options such as plant-based
                   leathers, bacterial cellulose, and laboratory-grown protein-based fibers aim to
                   both reduce production impact and provide new design aesthetics.


                   • Piñatex (pineapple leaves): Vegan leather alternative.
                   • Mycelium (mushroom roots): Lightweight and biodegradable material.
                   • Lab-grown protein fibers: Ethical and controlled production possibility.
