Saint Eligius is the patron saint of goldsmiths, other metalworkers, and coin
collectors. He is also the patron saint of veterinarians, horses and those who
work with them, but most importantly to us, he is the patron saint to the Royal
Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (REME).
102 Battalion REME conduct an annual weekend training exercise in
December of each year, with the Battalion coming together to conduct a St
Eligius Parade, Engineering Challenge, a fun Physical Training session,
Dinner Night and Battalion Awards Ceremony.
